When MMORPG turn bad...

I stumbled across this amusing news article this morning...

According to Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shunbun, a woman in Toyama prefecture, Japan, was arrested for wiping her former boyfriend's MMORPG character. The ex-girlfriend purportedly logged into his Lineage account and deleted all of his game data, including weapons, items and clothes he amassed.

The woman admitted that vengeance was the motive, saying to police that she "did it as revenge for breaking up."

In an ironic example of online relationships going awry, the couple met through playing the game.

Now surely as this was a crime committed in the MMORPG world surely a MMORPG court should decide the woman's punishment :) ... I'm sure if you killed a MMORPG character you wouldn't be arrested for murder??
