Cyc'd European Tour 2014 - Officially starts

And the tour has officially began. The Cyc'd members have all converged on Lyon, some from Paris, some from London and the remainder from Geneva. The Geneva and Paris legs we're a little eventful. A last minute dash just got us to the TGV in time (most of us even managed to get a ticket). Getting 5 bike bags on two tram rides and a TGV was quite the logistical exercise but some school kids on an excusion very kindly minded my bike for the trip.

3rd place on Col Du Chateau

A short tour of the our wonderful accommodation for the next week revealed a beautiful French chateau that was even better that it looked in the photos. There was a little worrying glimpse of our future on the wall.

Once all together it was a mass bike assembly before heading out to test the rigs.

The scenery again was just stunning and the climb (whilst not quite the effort of yesterday) was quite a testing little warm up with Matt Z taking line honours on the first climb of the tour.

A lovely roll into back to the valley on some more wonderful descents before heading home. There was. Small sneaky attempt on the segment to the Chauteau with a fantastic lead out from Eric one of our guys might become a feature of our trips home.

Even with one short climb and a nice descent there is plenty of strava discussion around the table over a few cold drinks. It looks like it's going to be a fantastic week.

Tomorrow we head to a one of the big climbs. And another highest elevation ever milestone for me.
