Halo 3 Pre-order?

I was wandering through Harvey Norman today and noticed this rather odd sign...


As far as I was aware Halo 3 was still a TBA in 2007 game and here were are in June 2006 and already taking pre-orders. I think this is just getting a little ridiculous on the pre-order front. More than 6 months is just taking money from customers and hoping they forget the pre-order
