MX-5... the possibilities
Maybe I was being a little to hasty in dismissing the MX-5 so quickly...

A late night..... (for no good reason)
As you can tell from the post time this isn't exactly normal post time, especially when I'm on a 6am flight to Sydney. For some reason (currently beyond my comprehension) I can't get to sleep so I'm reading myself tired (which isn't working so far). To break up the boredom I'm posting. I don't really have a lot of news to report (especially after yesterday's big announcement).
So here's the limited news...
Mandy and Tom came over last night for some Arcade Table and Mario Kart action. Unfortunately Mario Kart Wii didn't make it to my house this weekend (mainly Arcade table related) so we played some Double Dash. My efforts were particularly embarrassing resulting in no wins what so ever...
We also have done some car shopping over the weekend (in case you haven't guess already MX-5 and baby aren't really compatible) but I think all we've managed to do so far is increase the car options we're looking at rather than narrow down.
Well back to bed for me... (and hopefully to some sleep!)

Monday.... and back to the airport...
The trend continues and I'm back at the airport this morning ready for another trip to Townsville. It's not too bad this week because Suse will be up there for the same time as I will so there will be someone to catch up with for dinner.
Weekend Overview
We seemed to have a busier than normal weekend, first off we started trialling some grocery deliveries. Ness discovered a place called My Fruit which does a Fruit and Veg box delivered right to your door.

We also manage to fit in a little bit of shopping on the weekend. We have some people coming to stay in the near future and the Desk Bed isn't going to really fit 2 people for a couple of weeks. After seeing some adds for these air beds on the web (and last week on the TV) we ventured to find one... A little (very little) haggling and a bit of a discount later we had the bed... The only real problem is that big boxes (like those of a queen sized air bed) don't fit in MX5s..

The other big event on the weekend was a huge session on the Wii with Mario Galaxy. I haven't picked up the game yet but someone come over on Saturday with their copy and 5 hours and 14 stars later we were still playing... I can see why all the reviewers are raving about it. The added 2 player function means that it's no longer a spectator sport if you're not controlling the little guy in blue and red. Playing one star each while the other plays the 2nd player support is great fun and the graphics are just gorgeous (even on the 100" screen). If you were having second thoughs about it... you should buy it today! I think it will need a few more sessions over the Christmas break so I'll be grabbing a copy as soon as I stop travelling.
That's about it for the weekend and my flight is about to board so until Townsville.

The box looked great and all the fruit looked great so I was a little inspired to do some juicing on Saturday morning. I thought I try for a combination with a bit of raspberry in it but it didn't turn out quite as I planned. .jpg)
The juice itself was fine and quite tasty, but it wasn't so good for the juicer. The result of the berries in the juicer was something a little like blending a small mammal. The berries also don't juice so well, I think for the next run we will definately be squeezing the juice out of the berries separately.

Abuse for Minx!
It was the strangest thing i've ever had yelled at me! "Convertibles went out 20 years ago!"
Really what sort of insult is that? And to top it off it was from the back of an old beaten up laser.

Car Decision Done!
Well we made the decision to purchase one of the older NA series MX5s. We picked the Limited Edition in "Classic Red" with tan leather interior. It was in the best condition out of all of the ones that I saw by a long way!
We've put a deposit down on it and got to borrow it over night which was great fun! It's been for an inspection and I'm just awaiting the repairs that were required after that. It's due to go for another inspection on Wednesday afternoon to check it's all ok, then it will be ours!
They have agreed to get a new windscreen (had a small chip), full service (oil, plugs, etc), master cylinder service to fix the leak, 2 new rear tyres, rear alignment, head light alignment, rear suspension control arm fixed and power steering service all at their cost, before I take delivery. It had a full service 15,000ks ago which included the timing belt. All the services have been done by Centenary Mazda.
Managed to get it for an OK price considering it's condition and the price they had it maked at. I've put up some photos on Flickr from when I dropped it off for inspection!
Ben's also been doing heaps of research on them which's been very useful, hopefully we can track one down for him in just as good condition (but in Green)!
